1983
June
- Five days before Cassidy Afton's birthday party, Michael Afton locks him in his room, ignoring Cassidy's pleas to be let out. William attempts to reassure Cassidy through a talking Fredbear plush
- Michael continues to torment his younger brother in the days leading up to Cassidy's party, jumping out from behind furniture while wearing a Foxy mask to scare Cassidy and leaving him behind at Fredbear's despite knowing how much Cassidy hates it there
- Michael’s bullying continues until Cassidy’s birthday party – wearing Freddy’s-themed masks, Michael and a few of his friends surround Cassidy and decide to bully him by pushing him to “give Fredbear a kiss,” carrying him over to the stage and shoving him into the animatronic’s mouth – which bites down on Cassidy's head
- Cassidy goes into a coma and is taken to a hospital, where we hear Michael tearfully apologizing and Fredbear/William promising to “put [him] back together” outside his field of view before Cassidy flatlines
- Cassidy is resuscitated but remains paralyzed. William is able to take him home under the pretense of giving him hospice care
June 24th
- A girl named Susie visits Freddy Fazbear's Pizza after her dog is hit by a car and killed. William is able to lure her to the back room by telling her that her dog isn't really dead, then kills her, hiding her body inside the Chica the Chicken animatronic
June 25th
- A child named Fritz visits Freddy Fazbear's Pizza. When they are alone, William murders them and hides their body inside the Captain Foxy animatronic
June 26th
- A child named Gabriel visits Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza for their 7th birthday party with their friend Jeremy. Wearing the Spring Bonnie suit, William lures the two of them into the back room, where he kills both children. William hides Gabriel's body inside the Freddy Fazbear animatronic and Jeremy's body inside the Bonnie the Bunny animatronic
- After realizing he’d been caught on camera luring Gabriel and Jeremy to the back room earlier in the day, William determines that this may be his last chance to try and put his son back together. He brings Cassidy to the pizzeria that night, places him in the Golden Freddy suit, and triggers the springlocks. Cassidy dies in the suit, which doesn’t immediately show signs of possession, and William concludes that his experiments didn’t work
- Knowing that now he can't claim Cassidy died in his coma - his body is mangled beyond belief and, if investigated, Henry would recognize the springlock injuries - William removes his son's body from the suit and buries him in an unmarked grave in the woods
June 27th
- After Gabriel and Jeremy are reported missing, police search the Freddy’s security cameras for them and see them being lured away by someone wearing a Spring Bonnie suit
- Now that the springlock suits have been decommissioned, the owners are the only two people who would know where the suits are and how to use them, placing William and Henry under suspicion
- William denies any wrongdoing, claiming that he was at home and that his son had disappeared in addition to the rest of the missing children. Being the next most likely suspect, Henry is assumed to be responsible for the childrens' disappearances and presumed deaths, is arrested, and gets sent to prison
🛠️ Month
- Following Henry’s arrest, Charlie is shunned by the other children – they know her dad used to co-own Freddy’s but now is under police custody, and he’s believed to be the reason all those other kids went missing – so they exclude and bully her
- During a party one night, the other children lock Charlie outside of the pizzeria - with Henry in jail and the Marionette's inability to go outside at the time, no one is there to protect her
- William, drunk and angry about the failure of his experiments, drives up to Freddy's. Seeing Charlie locked outside the building, William's rage and anger at both himself and Henry – the man who built the animatronic that bit his son – takes over and he murders Charlie in the alley, leaving her body outside the building and driving home
- The Marionette finally escapes from its box and finds Charlie’s body outside in the rain. Damaged by the rain, the Marionette breaks down and is possessed by Charlie's Remnant/agony
- William drunkenly drives home. He stops at a bar called JR’s and is turned away by the bouncer
- When William gets home, he tries to see Michael, only to find that he’s escaped to “that place” again – Cassidy’s unmarked grave in the woods
- William punishes Michael for going to the gravesite by putting him in a hidden area of the Sister Location bunker for William to experiment on him with hallucinogenic gas that causes him to see the Nightmare animatronics
- When Michael is let out, he’s terrified and more traumatized than before now that he knows what will happen if he questions his father, so he shuts down, falling back into trying to get his father’s approval, pushing any and all of his doubts aside to survive
🛠️ Month
- After Charlie died and her spirit became attached to the Marionette, once the animatronic is repaired, Charlie discovers the souls of the other children and figures out how to help them. She is able to guide the souls of Susie, Fritz, Gabriel, and Jeremy to fully possess the animatronics that their bodies are hidden inside
- Because Cassidy's body is not inside Fredbear, Charlie cannot help him. Cassidy’s soul instead continues to wander, barely able to control the Fredbear suit beyond twitching
1987
🛠️ Month
- Fazbear Entertainment retools and reopens a location of Freddy Fazbear's Pizza in Hurricane in a different building from the original location
- William offers to create new animatronics, citing the smell and unpleasant appearance of the original models to prevent the bodies from being discovered. The company allows this on the condition that he uses parts from the original animatronics to make the Toy animatronics to cut costs as much as possible. As a result, Chica, Foxy, Freddy, Bonnie, and Fredbear are scrapped for parts and kept in a back room
- The new animatronics are connected to a criminal database with facial recognition software, but even though William isn’t a convicted criminal, they and the Marionette are still wary of him. The childrens’ souls, still attached to the animatronic parts that have been taken apart, become more confused and angry after being taken apart and scrapped for parts

November 13th
- Through his father's help and instruction, Michael Afton is hired to be the replacement night shift guard under the alias “Fritz Smith”
- Ralph, alerted by the security system at Freddy’s when Jeremy F shows up at the pizzeria to figure out what’s truly going on, calls to ask why they’re there when the building is closed down and they aren't on shift. Ralph tells Jeremy F that one final event is scheduled for the next day before news of the childrens' deaths reaches the public – a birthday party – and that they’re on day shift, instructed to stay close to the animatronics and make sure they don’t hurt anyone
November 14th

November 7th - 13th
- Still under his father's influence, Michael is hired to be Ralph's replacement as the night guard at the pizzeria under the alias “Mike Schmidt.” As the nights progress, he realizes the events that transpired and what really happened to the animatronics
November 14th
- Michael tampers with the animatronics' AI again, this time of his own volition in an attempt to help them. This is unsuccessful, and Michael is fired the next day for his tampering and smell
🛠️ Month
- The Hurricane location of Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza closes due to health concerns and an employee death
- William has the original animatronics kept in the old Freddy’s location, watched over by night guards (sometimes himself) to make sure they don’t escape
🛠️ Year
- William begins work on the Funtime animatronics specifically for his experiments with possession and death. Elizabeth Afton is jealous that William gives the animatronics/Circus Baby more attention than he gives her – to placate her, William tells her that he made Circus Baby for her
- Circus Baby’s Pizza World opens with a party but closes after a single day due to Elizabeth’s death. William finds Elizabeth in Circus Baby; she went too close to the animatronic alone despite his warnings. He takes Elizabeth's body with him to his bunker and keeps her remains preserved with nitrogen gas
- William immediately closes Circus Baby’s Pizza World following Elizabeth's death, citing a gas leak
- After bringing the Funtime animatronics back into his bunker, William realizes that Elizabeth isn’t fully gone, but she isn’t fully aware; she doesn’t remember William or anything else. William creates a Mimic01 chip in an attempt to program Circus Baby to be more like Elizabeth
- William transports Fredbear to his bunker. He gradually breaks down the animatronics with the souls of the missing children, intending to use their parts and Remnant to advance the Funtime animatronics
- William begins injecting the Remnant of the missing children into the Funtimes, including Circus Baby. Melting down all of the children into one blob and splitting it up again causes their souls to become even more confused, angry, and hostile than before
- Recognizing William out of the Spring Bonnie suit as the day guard from FNAF 2, the animatronics become hostile towards him. Circus Baby, still retaining little to no memory of her life as Elizabeth, now primarily sees William as someone shocking her and making her act in certain ways rather than as a father figure
🛠️ Year
- Now that all the animatronics in his bunker are hostile towards him, William realizes it isn’t safe for him to be down there, but he still wants to fix Elizabeth – so he goes to Michael, who lives at his own place but is still under William's influence
- William asks Michael to go to his bunker and put Elizabeth back together. The animatronics don’t recognize Michael at first, then mistake him for his father. The Funtimes act hostile towards Michael, except for Circus Baby; Elizabeth has regained enough awareness that she believes her father has come back for her. She guides Michael through the nights, hoping to use his body to escape the bunker
- The Funtime animatronics mesh their endoskeletons together into "Ennard". Elizabeth tricks Michael into entering the SCUPing room, where Michael is gutted and the animatronics use his body to escape the facility. Michael seemingly dies when Ennard leaves his physical body, but he continues to possess his body, his unfinished business with his father tethering him to the world as a ghost. He realizes that William's plan was to have him killed and decides that he’s going to track down his father to stop and punish him, becoming the one William should not have killed
- In the meantime, after sending Michael to his death, William returns to the FNAF location for the Spring Bonnie suit. He enters the back room and is surprised to see the ghosts of Charlie and the missing children there
- Not knowing what the ghosts can do, as Charlie begins to approach him, William gets into the Spring Bonnie suit, hoping that will either scare the children into submission or fool them into thinking he’s one of them – but the springlocks have worsened due to years of neglect, and upon laughing victoriously, William is springlocked and killed, left to bleed to death in the back room
2023
- 30 years after the closure of Freddy’s, Fazbear Entertainment opens a haunted house attraction called Fazbear’s Fright based on the events of the franchise. Company employees begin retrieving materials from previous locations for the attraction
- Michael is hired for the night shift at Fazbear’s Fright the week before the attraction’s official opening, knowing that William must be (or will be) connected to this place in some way
- The employees of Fazbear's Fright bring the Spring Bonnie suit into the building with William still in it. William and Spring Bonnie's AI vie for control of the suit as William attempts to reach the security office
- At the end of his scheduled shifts, Michael burns the attraction down in an attempt to kill his father, which proves unsuccessful
🛠️ Year
- Ennard splits into Scrap Baby and Molten Freddy after the rest of the amalgamation kicks out Elizabeth
- Henry is released from prison due to a lack of evidence. When he learns about the fire that destroyed Fazbear's Fright and that William is still alive, he opens a new pizzeria under a fake name, built to lure in and trap Afton and all the lost souls in one place to finally put them to rest
- Michael finds the new pizzeria and applies to be manager, having seen Henry’s advertisement seeking employees and picking up on at least part of who and what was involved in the new location. Henry isn’t expecting Michael but chooses to hire him, making him responsible for running the restaurant
- Once everyone is in one place at the end of the week, Henry activates the burners built into the pizzeria, setting the building on fire as he explains his plan and how it worked over the intercom. Everyone perishes in the fire and their souls leave their physical bodies
- Michael creates a punishing torture challenge for his father from Michael's memories of suffering at every location. The souls of the missing children and the AIs of the various other animatronics continuously attack William
- The souls and AI are all able to spend time with one another in the afterlife in peace. Michael, Elizabeth, and Cassidy are able to make contact and slowly start to make amends, realizing how each of them were manipulated and turned against one another by William

- Silver Parasol Games begins work on The Freddy Fazbear Virtual Experience, purportedly to combat bad press surrounding Fazbear Entertainment emerging from an independent game developer creating games based on "fabrications" of actual events
- A malicious virus enters the game's code via scanning an old animatronic circuit board. The developers cannot remove or control this anomaly. The Fazbear Entertainment Office of Legal Affairs issues a cease work order on the game's development, but this does not remove the virus
- One of the game's QA testers tries to leave audio logs warning the next development team about the entity but, in doing so, allows it to attach itself to the logs themselves. Realizing this, she runs a fragmentation program on the area of the game's memory storing the logs to break down both her warnings and the anomaly along with them. The QA tester advises the player to hide all traces of her logs lest putting them back together allows the entity to return
